Dr Wayne Smit FRCPA
General Pathologist and Managing Partner
Wayne completed his training at University of Melbourne and Melbourne teaching hospitals. In 1999 he arrived in Perth to work for Clinipath. He combined General Pathology practice with the Chief Executive Officer role at Clinipath 2001-2003. Wayne is also a member of the State Committee of the RCPA and serves on the national General Pathology and Clinical Pathology Advisory Committee of the college. He has published in the fields of biochemistry, cytology, microbiology and immunology.

Dr Michael Armstrong FRCPA
Histopathology and Cytopathology
Mike also trained locally at UWA and Perth teaching hospitals. Mike has worked in a consultant capacity at Royal Perth Hospital and was with Specialist Histopathology and Cytopathology for a time (while it was still an independent service). More recently Mike has worked at Western Diagnostic Pathology & Healthscope.

Dr Bruce Latham FRCPA
Histopathology and Cytopathology.
Bruce trained locally at UWA and Perth teaching hospitals. He was a consultant at Royal Perth Hospital from 1996-2003 followed by three years at Western Diagnostic Pathology where he was the head of the Department of Cytopathology. Bruce is a member of the State Committee of the RCPA and is the Western Australian representative on the Anatomical Pathology Advisory Committee of the College.

Dr Tony Barham FRCPA
Histopathology and Cytopathology
Tony graduated from Newcastle University and worked at several NSW hospitals before moving to WA and commencing specialist pathology training in 2000. After receiving his FRCPA in 2005 he was a consultant histopathologist and cytopathologist for six years at Western Diagnostic Pathology. Tony’s areas of interest include skin, gastrointestinal, breast and gynaecologic pathology, cytology and fine needle aspiration.

Dr Laurens Manning FRACP
Infectious Diseases Physician
Laurens is an Infectious Diseases physician with an academic interest in tropical paediatrics. He completed his advanced training in infectious diseases in New Zealand and Australia. In addition to working with Perth Pathology, he has clinical duties at Royal Perth Hospital and is active in malaria research with the University of Western Australia.

Dr Rebecca Howman FRACP FRCPA MClinRes
Clinical Haematologist
Rebecca is a local graduate who trained at Perth teaching hospitals. She recently returned from Melbourne after training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute. Her special interests include obstetric haematology and the diagnosis and management of haematological malignancies. She works at Perth Pathology, Fremantle Hospital, and Hollywood Medical Centre.

Mr Paul Schneider BSc MSc MASM MAIMS
Laboratory Director
Paul is a Medical Scientist and previously was the General Manager at General Pathology Laboratories (Healthscope Pathology) for 6 years. Prior to this he held posts as Laboratory Manager, Quality Manager and Head of Department (Microbiology/Serology). Paul is a past Vice Chair of AIMS and previously has held various committee positions on the peak representative scientific professional bodies, as well as being a NATA/RCPA Assessor.
